Other summer event

Summer Walk:   6th June 2018, 7pm

Lancaster Canal Walk from Stainton Bridge to Hincaster Tunnel

The 2018 Summer Walk will be along the upper reaches of Lancaster Canal.  It will be led by John Acres and Richard Trevithick of the Lancaster Canal Trust.

We will walk along the canal path from Stainton Bridge to Hincaster Tunnel with the opportunity to view the packet boat stables at Hincaster if time permits.  We will return by the same route and the walk will last about 2 hours.

Meet at Stainton Bridge at 7pm  on Wednesday 6th June 2018.  Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.

John Acres recommends if possible for people to double up in cars by meeting at the Crooklands Hotel, on the A65 to Kendal just off junction 36 of the M6 as there is very limited parking in Stainton.

The sat nav is LA8 OLG and the grid reference 521 855.

The approach is to continue on the A65 through the villages of Endmoor and Summerlands and then take the next left turn for Stainton.

We are meeting at 7.0pm where the canal finishes.

It would be useful to have the Ordnance Survey Map 97 Kendal and Morecambe.

As usual, Anne Stelfox is happy to answer any queries.  Contact details:   01524 823299 or via email annepstelfox218@gmail.com
