The recent suggestion that the indoor market might re-locate to the City Museum came as a surprise.
At its meeting on 15th February, the City Council’s Cabinet voted to investigate the possibility and consultants will be employed to look at a possible extension to the Grade II* listed building.
The Society presented a statement to Cabinet in advance of its meeting expressing grave reservations about the suggestion and the Friends of Lancaster City Museum are strenuously opposing the idea. These statements are provided as links below.
