Heritage weekend

This year Roger Frankland, with the co-operation of Virgin Rail, opened the rooms above Platform 3 at Lancaster station as the Society’s contribution to National Heritage Open Days 2010.

Brian Howsen, who worked at Lancaster Station for many years and whose knowledge of the station and its history is possibly unrivalled, gave tours and answered questions throughout the weekend, ably assisted by current Virgin employees.  We are also indebted to those members who gave up their time over the weekend to assist with the invigilation.  Our thanks go to all those who took part, to Virgin Rail and especially to Roger for organising the event.
